The selected publications and presentations below give you a flavour of my areas of interest and expertise.
I have been invited to share expert insights at conferences and seminars in the UK and internationally (e.g. AEA-Europe conferences in Cyprus and Malta, Federation of Awarding Bodies conferences and the Cambridge Assessment Network annual conference). I have also been invited to present at many online and livestream events, including, for example, for WorldSKillsUK and FE News.
In February 2022, I was invited to write a guest policy view on assessment and post-16 qualifications reform for the Campaign for Learning. I have previously contributed a chapter on ‘Net Zero and the Level 3 and Below Curriculum’ to a Campaign for Learning policy pamphlet on post-16 education and skills in the green economy (2021). You can read it here.
I edited a pamphlet (2020) on the role that end point assessment has played in improving the quality of England’s apprenticeship system. I also wrote a short article summarising the key arguments for FE News.
I’ve also contributed to a number of research projects on qualifications and vocational education policy by the Gatsby Foundation, Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and Pye Tait.
